Dinner for four.
Mum took a day off and I made a roast dinner for my family all by myself. This was the first time I've ever cooked anything on such a scale and I'm pretty proud of myself. Heaps of things could've gone wrong in the kitchen but everything turned out as they should be. I made a simple chicken roast with stuffed celery, gravy with red wine, mash spuds and stuffed button mushrooms with minced pork.
Can you say YUMMYLICIOUS?

J'08 live concert
My older bro gave me two free tickets for a concert called J'08 live.Sounded really cool, like some big time concert but it was apparently a concert for the guiding association's jamboree and the tickets were worth 37 bucks each. Now, I wouldn't just go to any concert that was for a whole bunch of kids would I? The concert featured Evermore,Spacifix and Elemeno P so it was so worth going to! Evermore is the best band ever.Too bad they are only really famous in Nz and Au, because I believe that one day they're gonna take the world by storm. Well in my eyes anyway. This would've been my second time watching them live. SWEET AS.

Spacifix were really good as well and they totally kicked ass. Their music consist of a mixture of raggae, jazz and funk. Really unique and spunky group.Too bad we couldn't get up and jive to their music because we were sitting in the second floor. And elemeno P is a pop rock band, pretty cool band with a chick in it. Haha. Their lead singer sounded like he's been having the cold or something but hey! he stilled managed to rock the crowd.

It was pretty cool how both Esther and I had on the Indie chick outfits on because both of us didn't plan what we were going to wear at all.And Esther pointed out that I had on an evermore outfit. Hilarious but totally unplanned. But something like what a chick version of Dann would wear.
Pictures from Esther. :)

All the guides.
And so after the concert which ended at around 8.30, we decided to head to town for dinner .Don't you just love the daylight savings? Day light until 9ish. Passed by the good ol' souvlaki place and decided to eat there since Esther hasn't trade souvlaki yet. And as usual, i had the grilled lamb one. Souvlaki is Greek food by the way in case you were wondering. It was soo delicious but very messy. The portion was huge and it took us a long time to finish up.
mhmm...

After having dinner, we headed to Picasso aka. the bath room cafe for a drink. The serve yummy bubble tea there is huge ass portions. Kinda like the huge beer mugs that the germans use. A really cool place to go to when you've got nothing to do at night and if you wanna chill with friends. They open till about 2am in the morning. But then again, you wouldn't want to hang out that late in town because of all the crazy drunks out there.

Till next time!

sweet summer indulgence.
tangy plum pie with raspberry sauceWhen summer comes, its fruit season for all of us that have fruit trees in our back yard. Which means its plumb and juicy raspberries and plums for us and apples as well. We have heaps of ripe plums from the plum tree and so I decided to make good use of them by making plum pie. I made the crust and base from scratch to make sure that the pie would taste extra yummy. But one mistake I made though was not removing the skins of the plums as they were horribly sour, which made the whole pie tasting so sour that only the edible part of the pie was the base and the crust. But to my rescue came mum's home made raspberry jam (the raspberries came straight from my garden as well). Straining the the jam created a nice sweet red raspberry sauce that I poured on top of the pie which pretty much salvaged my ambitious desert. But as disastrous as it sounds, the pie turned out looking pretty darn delicious if you ask me.

That summer feeling'

Summer is the most chill worthy time of the year- especially at the beach with your mates.Evlyn organized a little get together to hang out at Taylor's mistake with those who were left in Christchurch. Taylor's mistake is a bay area just a short drive from Sumner . That day was so excruciatingly hot that we totally beat Singapore at it this time. The temperature was 34-8 degrees- a far cry from the nice weather we are all used to in New Zealand. It was slip slop & slap routine for all of us as no one wanted to be a potential candidate for melanoma cancer. As some of you may know the ozone layer is hovering right above our lovely Aoterora and on a cloudless day like this, no one was willing to take the risk. But we had heaps of fun splashing against the waves and running to and fro from our mat and to the water across the hot sand. Viva la Summer!

Sumner Lovin'

And yes, I couldn't get enough of the beach and so it was Sumner all over again for me, this time along with Esther! I really needed the tan that I longed for but failed to get in Singapore-note the rainy day in Sentosa. And so , I couldn't be more pleased to bum all day at the beach and chill while I get my much needed tan. This trip was also the last for my casio exilm camera as the sand and sun proved too much for it. Some of the pictures here are very well the last that you'll ever see from my trusty camera. The pictures from the collage are taken by Esther as well as the ones in Town. :) I wore my bikini this time so I was able to head right into the water. The waters were really freezing but we managed to get use to the water and we had a blast crashing the waves . If i'm not wrong, I think we spent a total of more than an hour in the water. It was so much fun!

After heading out of Sumner, we went to town to catch the Buskers festival as well as to chill at the cafes. We did a wee bit of shopping as well, Esther got the turquoise folk scark while I got the tangerine version of it and a sheer patterned scarf.

hehe. Arab!
Esther and I were discussing about where these folks were from, both of us thought that they were the red indians that looked like the ones that performed in Singapore but in the end, they were from South America. They played an array of tribal looking instruments and their music was so serene and peaceful. We sat watching them until they completed their performance. I was so happy they played the last of the Mohicans !

And at the end off the day, we went to coffee culture which was the only cafe that remained opened. I had the Irish mint mochachino while esther had the caramel hazelnut one. Coffee house is way way better than coffee culture. The only thing that tasted of mint rather than the drink was the little mint "ricolla-like" gummy lolly they served at the side.Sheesh!

There's week left of the holiday's and so I'm off to my senior year of highschool soon. Can't wait to start! By the way I just got my driver's license today and so i'll be hitting the roads soon!! Congratulate me!

Thanks for the birthday gift Esther!!! Love ya Hun!

Till' next time
